Martine Niven

Martine has over 15 years of experience as an acupuncture practitioner, having undergone her four-year training at The College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM) in Reading and graduating in 2008. She has a BSc Hons degree in Acupuncture and specializes in the integrated styles of both Five Element and TCM Acupuncture. Martine also holds a diploma in Tui Na (Traditional Chinese Medical Massage) and has completed a diploma in Paediatric Acupuncture specializing in the treatment of infants, children, and adolescents. Recently, she has also qualified in Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine after completing her three-year training at White Crane Academy in London, under the guidance of Andrew Flowers.

In addition to her expertise in acupuncture and herbal medicine, Martine is also trained as a Reiki Master and Aromatherapist. She creates all of her own in-house herbal remedies using aromatherapy and homegrown herbs. She is ITEC trained and proficient in a variety of other holistic therapies, including Holistic Massage, Indian Head Massage, and Hopi Ear Candling. Martine is a 35th Generation Shaolin Warrior Disciple and a lifelong practitioner of Traditional Chinese Martial Arts. She specializes in Shaolin Kung Fu, Sanda, Qi Gong, and meditation (see her martial arts profile here).

She teaches classes in Qi Gong, Meditation, and Shaolin Kung Fu and helped set up UK Shaolin in Southampton. She is also the event manager for Chinese New Year in Southampton City and runs and teaches at her own martial arts school Natural Elements Martial Arts in Bournemouth.

Martine believes in providing the best quality of care for her patients, and for this reason, she is a registered member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and The Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM). She adheres to both their standards of care and strict codes of conduct and practice.
